The Learning Refuge is a volunteer-run community Centre based in Paphos, Cyprus , with a core mission “to keep planting seeds of goodness and beauty so that we can teach children and adults to truly live together.” Although relatively small in scale, it plays a vital role in the local ecosystem of refugee and asylum-seeker support, particularly for immigrant women and their families, who face multiple challenges related to integration, social inclusion, and empowerment. The organisation provides material and educational support by assisting families with essential items such as food, clothing, children’s supplies, and furniture. Alongside these services, it organises family-oriented workshops and informal educational activities, which not only help to meet immediate needs but also foster resilience and a sense of belonging. For immigrant and refugee women, access to such support reduces isolation, provides stability, and opens pathways toward personal development.
KSKD is a youth-focused civil society organisation committed to promoting social inclusion, equal opportunities, and community empowerment in the Aydın–Kuşadası region. Through its non-formal education activities and youth engagement programmes, the organisation actively supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). KSKD works to create safe and accessible learning environments for young people from diverse backgrounds, including migrant and disadvantaged youth. Its initiatives aim to strengthen participation, foster intercultural understanding, and ensure that all young people—regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, or cultural identity—have equitable access to learning and personal development opportunities.
AYFOD is a community-focused organisation committed to promoting social inclusion, youth empowerment, and active participation among disadvantaged young people. Through its non-formal learning programmes and community initiatives, the organisation supports young people in developing confidence, strengthening key life skills, and engaging more meaningfully with their social environment. AYFOD works with youth facing social or economic barriers and provides opportunities for personal growth, peer interaction, and constructive community involvement. Its mission is to create supportive spaces where young people can build resilience, explore their potential, and access pathways that enhance their overall well-being and participation in society.
